Well, I totally blew everything this weekend. I had tacos at the food truck fair. I had sushi. I had wine. Now, I have 3 pounds more than I did Friday. I can't blame anyone or anything but myself. They were my choices. Now I'm choosing my diet. Back on the wagon!

All you can do is move forward. Don't be too hard on yourself about last weekend, but you can learn from it--are there trigger foods that you need to avoid, what are some ideas for making better choices next time you find yourself in a similar situation. You can do this. :)

Well, I know to avoid the food truck fair. I LOVE FOOD TRUCKS! And when I took the kids for sushi, I wasn't really thinking about all the carbs. I'd been promising to take them for a long time, and since hubs is out of town (he doesn't like sushi), it seemed like the right time to go. Then I got there and there was rice in nearly everything. Duh! So I gave in and ate whatever I wanted. I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, they were both situations in which I don't normally find myself, and I've been so good for two weeks, so I treated myself... twice. They were choices, decisions, and I own them. On the other hand, I'm sorry when I step on the scale. But this is a marathon, not a sprint. I took a "breather." I'm back on track now and determined to WIN.

What are you willing change to help yourself?

I think you caved in mostly because you didn't do the "min 12 net carbs from foundation vegetables" part. Your body starts crying for what it's missing, especially the fiber and vitamins and microminerals, so you will crave and be easily persuaded to cave in. It's fine, start again, more carefully, in 3-4 days you'll be back in ketosis and losing all the water weight from the carbs. I'd suggest you still log in everything you ate, and still weigh in, no matter if it's up or down, that way you can take note of how your body responds to various foods and carbs from various sources. You are right that it's not a sprint, but I'd say it's not a marathon either, it's a journey. A journey that you will be on probably for the rest of your life, so take your time to adjust and make it enjoyable. Otherwise, if you don't enjoy it and it doesn't make you happy, it won't work. Try to eat what you actually like. I sent you on FB the list of allowed foods. take an hour to study it, and make a list of the dishes you'd actually love to eat that would be made with ingredients from that list. LCHF can be awesome and delicious, and once you get used to it, you won't want to go back. Myself I got to the point where if I see a commercial or photos of stuff with lots of carbs (donuts, cakes, fast food) it grosses me out. Even some fruits started to gross me out because I can't get out of my mind the amount of carbs they contain. And I used to love bananas....
