My mentality towards food has changed. I've been avoiding wheat products for about 10 weeks now, and lost 18 lbs -- without really trying.

When I was eating wheat products, I used to be hungry all the time, always thinking about food, always wanting to eat something and often would pig out on the "food" (usually junk food) that I really liked. Many times, I ate "in-the-closet-style" and then hid the food packaging at the bottom of the garbage can, so that nobody would know what I had done. Then I'd hate myself.

Now, it's hard to eat three meals a day, because I just don't have any interest in food anymore. My body tells me when I'm hungry, and that's usually about 5-7 hours after my last meal, which is only about 1/3 of what I used to eat. I get full very quickly now. I live on almond, coconut, flax and garbanzo flours for "bready" stuff so I'm never missing bread at all.

I usually just have a fruit for my midday meal because I just don't feel the urge to eat, so I tell myself, "you really should eat a third meal, girl!" By suppertime, I still am not interested in eating, but I do only because I fear that I might get hungry before bedtime and I don't want to get into the habit of going to sleep right after eating.

I've done so many different diets, so many different ways of life, but this is SO WORKING for me. It's like my whole brain has been re-wired.

Bonus is that my hypothyroidism medication needs to be reduced -- my blood test show my numbers way down. I didn't expect THAT!! It would be awesome if I end up off the medication altogether!!

Congratulations! When people ask me about not eating things like pasta or bread at restaurants, I remind them how easy is to overdo that stuff, but just try eating three chicken breasts. Next to impossible...healthy food keeps me fuller and healthier!! Good job.
