HCB, I'm actually trying to gain. I have just been doing a lot of Zumba, and can't do weight training because of my sprained thumb. I am back to Pilates 2 days a week, and can add negative pushups and full planks, as tolerated. I guess I'm burning more calories than I think. I am adding more carbs back into my diet, while still keeping up good protein and healthy fats. I'm making healthy treats, and trying new whole grain bread recipes. Latest is white whole wheat oatmeal sesame seed bread, mighty fine. I may mmake pumpernickle or dill rye next, since Linda bought some good deli ham. Then I think I'll make a loaf of green chili cheddar corn bread, with whole wheat flour, corn meal, smoked sharp cheddar. I have a Healthy Bread Machine cookbook with awesome recipes. Like sunflower millet... I can't imagine how many calories I would burn if I was actually teaching Zumba, as well as taking classes. I'm in awe of the instructors I know.... I'm going to a Cumbia Jam next month; another 3 hour training. And a Party in Pink with multiple instructors. I need some fat reserves for those extra-burn days. I take energy treats, but it's hard to eat much while you're dancing. Afterword,,,, that's a different story. I also need to practice my choreography, so I feel more sure of myself and my abilities, even if I never teach. Plus, my beloved instructors are bound to try to get me in front of the class, or even on stage. I can earn a special wristbands if I get up on stage with others and help lead the choreography that we just learned at the Cumbia Jam. Veronica just got certified as a Cumbia Jammer (she's a Salsa Jammer too). I must prepare, and prove to myself that I can do these things, just like I was able to earn my Zumba instructor certification. I have to have the energy for it all, especially with the added challenges MS gives me. So, I will eat more and gain a few pounds. Then more when I can weight train again, probably in three weeks.
