KThompson12's Journal, 17 August 2015

I knew this was coming.
I feel so out of control with eating. I woke up Saturday ready to lose weight, I exercised and ate a good breakfast and lunch, then after lunch I started freaking out about 'never eating real food or drinking again' and I purposely binged on potato salad and grilled cheese to instantly stray from my diet, kind of like smoking a cigarette when I quit so I quit quitting. Then I binged all weekend on horrible (wonderful) high fat, high sugary foods & drinks.
Seeing 194.4 on the scale this morning was a bear, but worse is the fatness in my stomach that I can't suck in and fake. It's there, it's real, and it's BIG. I know my coworkers, friends and family notice it. I wish I didn't care, but I desperately do care.
So starting today, I will eat a low carb diet with unlimited veggies (besides potatoes, carrots and corn). I'll exercise in the mornings, I can't promise every single morning, but most mornings. I'll also try to exercise after work. I'll suffer for the next few weeks until I'm back to 185, then I'll maintain that for a while before trying for 179.
194.4 lb Lost so far: 29.0 lb.    Still to go: 9.4 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

Sometimes we feel deprived, and binge. The truth is, the foods we binge on are usually no good for us. They are deliberately manufactured to keep you reaching for more. They also contribute to weight gain. So, keep in mind each time you decide to deviate into bad food or drink, you are supporting the food processing company, at a detriment to your health. More money in their coffers: more illness for you. That's NOT a good deal. The more foods you can eat in their natural form, the better you will be. Natural form means, not processed, no added sugars and salts, less additives.
