Fledgist's Journal, 06 August 2011

Did 47 minutes at the gym yesterday. This morning I'm down another 3/4 pounds. It's not the 2 lbs a week I'd like, or that I was doing a few months back, but I'm moving downwards and that's all that matters.

It's been extremely hot here, in the mid to upper nineties, with heat indices up to and over 100. I wear a hat whenever I go outdoors. By hat I mean a hat (a panama, that is to say; an authentic sombrero de jipi japa), not a baseball cap. Given that I managed to avoid wearing such a thing for most of my life, this has been a pretty big change over the past year.

Monday, I go in for my annual physical. I haven't seen my physician since the beginning of the year. I wonder what she's going to say?
201.8 lb Lost so far: 135.2 lb.    Still to go: 33.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Congrats on how much time you can now do at the gyn, and on continuing to lose, albeit slowly. Also I think you would look great in a Panama hat. I am sure your physician will be gobsmacked at how much weight you have lost and she/he will congratulate you! Hope the blood work (which I am sure they will ask for) reflects positive changes. Post a pic of you in the hat if you can.

I know 2 pounds per week would be awesome, but at 1.6 pounds per week, that's pretty much the same! It gets harder as you get closer to your goal, so I'd say you're a HUGE success!

Thanks. I'll see about a photo of myself in a Panama. I'm certain she'll send me to the vampire (especially because I have an appointment with the nephrologist in just over three weeks as well, and he'll want blood work too). Brandy, I wish you could tell that to my mother.

You look great in your Panama hat, much more elegant than a baseball cap, everyone wears those LOL. I think your Doc is going to be blown away gobsmacked is the word for sure. I am sure your Mum is very proud of what you are doing if she has never had a weight problem she won't get it, I think that is a fact of life. I wouldn't mention now how much you are losing just let her know you are still going down (hopefully that should do it). You have done fabulously. Let us know the results of the blood work would be very interested.

Yvonne, my mother's always been thin (her problem is hypotension). My father's family has a tendency to stockiness, however. Thanks for the compliment!
