So here's the grit on me. I am sooooo afraid to weigh myself! I cringe when I get near the scale. Since I started dieting a little over a month ago, I got on it once. And that was only because I joined this site and felt like I HAD to. I practically begged and pleaded with myself to get on! My starting weight in August I got at the doctor's. Is that pathetic or what? Take a photo for the site? I'm thinking about, but I just don't want to see what I look like! These are all things I absolutely avoid unless necessary. I haven't been in a family photo for years. Ridiculous, huh?
Motivation is a powerful thing though. I have come a long way in three months. I'm not just talking diet here, but who I am as a person. I had a few kinks to get out and still have some. Its all a work in progress and one step at a time.
For starters I have set goals for dieting, exercise and life. These goals have a start date and a completion date. They are not outrageous and I haven't filled my plate per say.
Since I have slowly started changing, I am beginning to see wanted outcomes in my life - 9 pound weight loss, I feel better about myself, sleeping better, just to name a few. All of these are adding to my motivation.
Till the next entry...God Bless!

You and I feel the same way about the scale. I hate stepping on it, but I know I have to start somewhere to get the results I want. So stay strong and do it...lol

Good luck to you. Remember - one day at a time!

So weigh yourself once a month. The thing I love about this site is that you make your own rules, you're completely in charge. Take each day as it comes and you will see that with each day it gets easier to face the person you're trying to avoid-YOU. Those things that you are avoiding will soon become unavoidable and once you face them you will see a tremendous change in your weightloss-in a positive way.

dont give up! I am inspired by your story. Hate the scale too but now, I have to get on it weekly because I am on Jenny Craig & have to meet with my consultant once a week. I now no longer use the scale at my house & have the same mindset that the Biggest Loser TV show contestants have... work hard all week, then have the same anxiety when its time to weigh in once a week.
