Finally able to get some work done around the house. The summer is zooming by and all my projects are still hanging over my head. This is the first week since early May that I haven't either been traveling or hosting guests. So far this week I've been able to cross off painting the front porch floor and steps, as well as the two garage doors. I also sanded and put a coat of polyurethane on two hickory bent rockers and a side table. My front porch looks awesome! (if I do say so myself)

Today I plan to vacuum out my car and use the carpet cleaner to wash all the gunk out of my car's carpet after 3 weeks of Grand Camp with 14 grandkids (at various times) and their juice cups and goldfish crackers. Our handyman is supposed to be here for 1/2 day to do more work on our basement. He is supposed to work 30 hours a week for us, but we get more like 18 - some weeks he doesn't come at all. We pay him by the hour, so that's not the issue, it would just be nice to get the basement DONE. These days he is working on the ceiling in the main part of the basement.I don't know if my expectations are too high for what one man can accomplish, but it just seems like this whole basement project is taking waaaay too long.

As far as my healthstyle (healthy-lifestyle) goes...I am a work in progress. I am eating much healthier choices this week - lots of fish, veggies and fruit, and no junk-processed anything - and I'm getting lots of body movement in - like bending and stretching while doing my work - but not a lot of dedicated exercise. I've started logging my food again and taking the time to journal. I'm struggling with night time snacking. I guess that is my next hurdle to face. I'm coming up on the one-year anniversary of this new healthstyle change and I want to make sure I keep going.

WOW! you are getting a lot done! Working on house projects is exercise, using muscles you forget you have LOL. I feel the same way about the summer, just going away too dang fast. Terrific that you are eating healthier.
