HCB's Journal, 28 July 2015

Greetings my Buddies:

Happy Day to all. I realized this morning I am super hard on myself because I am disciplined and have high expectations.

I took Sunday off from the gym (when I usually do go) and ate food off my nutrition plan over the weekend. Yesterday I was full of regret and somewhat angry at myself for "giving in."

Then, I realized,"WOW, give it a rest! It is OK!" A healthy life is about BALANCE and CONSISTENT EFFORT. I still worked out three days last week, and ate within my nutrition plan most days.

Celebrate your successes and do not dwell on less than perfect days. Move on!

Words of the Week:
"It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop."

I am dedicated, determined and diligent.

Good for you to cut yourself some slack. You must not be too rigid. You can be flexible to handle whatever the day might bring.

Yes, don't be too hard on yourself. It's awesome that you were able to have positive self-talk in the mist of feeling bad for your choices. Great outlook! You are doing great by the way! :)

I think it's called a life. There are times when it just happens for whatever reason. Don't be hard on yourself just keep moving forward.

Sometimes you just have to give yourself a break....you've done great and you deserve one! Going a little off plan can also be a learning experience - let's you find out how such deviations affect you and give some insight in advance on dealing with maintenance once we get to our desired weight.

how crazy , this just happened to me.. i realized i was stressing too much if i went over my carbs, missed a work out or whatever.. then i saw a post it that i stuck on my desk that said "get a life". it was meant to remind myself that there is more to life than just work but I realized, it applies here too. I realized ive met more then half my goal and as long as its still a lifestyle for me, then one day wont hurt.. or two .. LOL

I do the same thing to myself. I think it's because I have come so far that I don't want to go back. You are right it is about moderation and balance. We have to celebrate sometimes. I hope you enjoyed your weekend!!

What I've finally come to grips with is that guilt and regrets are not very productive. Every day is a new day, and if I focus on maintaining an overall healthy lifestyle -- then that's what counts, and I need to give myself a break when I have a day that includes a family celebration or other special event. Don't you agree?

Yes! Hermione's Mom, I do agree! And, I also want to see progress and I know when I indulge a bit, I trend Up rather than down!

I agree HCB I just wish I had time to give it a rest. My Goal to finish the interior of the living area of the house before the counters get here or at least the Game room and kitchen - I am not talking decorating I am talking work to get it there.
