I'm in a bad place mentally. Stressed out. Hurting. Lonely. Apathetic. Currently I am not eating my feelings, but I feel burnt out. This has been and continues to prove one of the most difficult seasons of my life. All I want to do is chain watch a tv series on Netflix and keep hoping for the next month to speed by so I don't have to deal with the stupid escapist ideas that pop into my head, seeking for a way to cope with the emptiness that is gnawing at me. :(

My dearest, no I don't know you but I like many many others have been in bad places mentally. You need to reach out to your mental health counselor, NOW. From your profile I can tell that you are bright spot in our world and know you are a child of God. Clearly you know of mental health resources. Get your head out of Netflix and make the call. Do it for your children. Do it for YOU, you are worth it. Sending positivity and love to you. Make the call, NOW.

Its really hard when those sorts of feelings just wash over you. I am very familiar with those myself. Try and do something for yourself that you can enjoy, like a long bath or go to see a movie or go to a library or really anything that interests you. Sometimes for me the best thing I can think to do is get out of my own head, which is always the hardest part. Hold on there, it will pass, in the meantime just accept that youre having a rough patch and do things to help promote positive feelings. Good luck to you!

I agree with floridagal, sounds like you may need some counseling or at least some mental health help from a professional.

Get up and take a long fast walk. Then take a shower. Then have a cup of tea. Then call your friend. Repeat as necessary.

I had a chance to talk to some friends. However I didn't see these comments until after I indulged in several episodes and some impulse eating. :-/ I currently have 2 individual therapists (one is a secular therapist, the other is a Christian counselor). That does help but what I am going through is just really taxing. Thank you for the support. I will try to implement these ideas better next time.

I'm sorry ,I to feel that way at times.my mother used to tell me "now don't let the devil steal your joy when you hear him whispering ,you just tell him your not having it " then speak nice things about you out loud so it goes in your ears and takes root in your heart!
