jmb3450's Journal, 03 July 2015

It was good to sleep in till 8 this morning, no alarm clock getting me out of bed early. Spent some time this morning drinking coffee and perusing Civil War history, my wife and I are going to spend the afternoon visiting Anteitam Battlefield, should be a nice day. Crab legs on the menu for dinner and looking forward to that. Hope everyone has a great Friday.

My husband is a Civil War buff - he says go to Dunkard Church on the battlefield and look for the names the Union soldiers carved into the windowsills...slightly panted over but visible

Thanks everyone - HCB wish I'd read that earlier, we were in the church, we live so close I'll go back. Might even go tomorrow, looks like the visitor center was setting up for a big event for the 4th. Was a very enjoyable day, very sobering too realizing the suffering and tragedy of war. 23, 000 casualties in a single day of fighting.

Sleep in? What is this sleeping in you mention? I am up between 5-6 am daily darn loud birds that have become my alarm clock. Never thought there would be a day that I was always up with the birds! Sounds like you had a great day - continue and have a great weekend!
