You can do it...if I can help let me know...but I cannot help you take the spoon out of your mouth...you have to do it... Drink lots of water to start...before you eat at each meal. Make yourself drink...water... Eat more often if you must 6 meals a day...but...small portions SMALL portionsssssss. Good Luck...I know you will need it. If your caloric intake on FS is 3500 cals...You Must cut it down by 500 to loose but most of all you need to record what you eat. You must...watch what you eat...cut out FAT...Cut out surgarrrrrrr. It is in everything you eat...read the lables...you can do it! Set your goal to loose one pound at a time. Instead of 100...

It sounds to me like you have an oral fixation, from one former smoker to another. You need to turn that into a physical fixation. You need to make certain pleasurable activities more of the focus. Find something you don't dread being active in, maybe swimming or walking. Anything that gets your blood flowing and your hands away from your mouth. You of course, still need to control your caloric intake as well.

While drinking water is not bad advice necessarily, you need to change the behavior. Otherwise it's easy to go from sips to bites all the way back to puffs.

Instead of sometimes counting your calories, count everything that passes your lips each day and keep within you limit. To stay within your limit you will soon learn to eat the right foods ie the foods that give you the most nutrition for the least calories. Combine this with some regular exercise even if you can only snags walking. Just my opinion, it certainly works for me.

Excellent that you quit smoking. Do you think about the butts anymore? Probably not and I would assume that you are determined not to go back to that habit, right? Don't give up on yourself with that weight. Choose a food that you have been eating that you may want to eliminate. Maybe you could do the pros/cons like some people do when trying to quit smoking. Then perhaps choose a second food you could forget and do the same thing. I think the trick for me is portion control. If you want that cookie, OK, have just one and may eliminate for that day something with the equivalent calories. Everyone is different and I think just relaxing and not obsessing about food should help. It is not like you are never going to eat again. One meal at a time, one day at a time. You did it with the butts, you can do it with the food/weight ratio. Keep on swimming, little fish.
