Socolova's Journal, 23 June 2015

So yesterday I attempted running after a weekend of not running, for some reason I just could not get into a groove...start stop start stop...and it's SO hard to re-start after stopping. I ran maybe half a mile continuous. Today, HOWEVER, was a different story!!! BOOM, I was out the door and jazzed up! Ran the full two miles I have coursed out for my AM run, even the uphill last half mile without a break (which has NEVER happened)! I wanted to die by the end but HEY I DID IT! That uphill really did me in, holy smokes! Yes, 2 miles isn't THAT spectacular but I have started and stopped training so many times, I'm pretty proud of it :)

PS....I'm rewarding myself with some jewelry..shhhhhh! Don't tell my husband ;)

lol no worries, it was fun doing it. My son says my motto should be " if it doesn't hurt you aren't doing it right!" Congratulations on the running, you have done so well sticking with it. We are neck and neck weight-wise. I don't dare talk smack to you , you will crush me to goal lol.

I would imagine, that your diet could hold the answer to your "peppyness" your "carb-loading" for 4-5 days could be the ticket. I would watch your macros and do a little bump in your carbs 24 hours prior to your run days. Also, water intake, water intake, water intake. Drink water :)

I'm a water hoarder lol..you're right though, that was my problem, I had junk carbs and lots of salt over the weekend...it freed up yesterday so my muscles could breathe better for today! I am doing a race this weekend, so thanks for the carb-up reminder!!!!

Sometimes your body knows better than you that it needs a rest. If it happens again, just do a brisk walk that time and you'll feel really good you were able to complete your walk....

Two miles is really great to me especially that you ran the two miles I can barely walk two on my treadmill going 2.5 miles an hour. So great job in time I bet that uphill will be like the flat and you will be adding another mile ore two.
