BrandyRelaxing's Journal, 23 July 2011

Well I worked out, and it didn't kill me. Even though it's Day 2 TOM, I feel really good... which is odd for Day 2.

I ended up working out on the treadmill, walking for 4 mins 30 seconds and then jogging for 30 seconds. It was totally reasonable, and I don't feel dead, but I think the thing that made the difference is that I didn't try to walk too fast in between the jogs. I had been trying to walk faster so I could say I went farther, but I do think that might be the wrong approach. So I had been trying to walk at 3.0 miles/hour, and tonight I walked at a pace of 2.8 miles per hour. A small decrease in my walking speed, but let me jog at a pace of 4.5 instead of the former 4.3. I don't know if it's progress, but I feel good, and some other days I felt totally dead, so I count that as a win.

I also did some free weights on my arms, so that's also a win, because it's been a while, and I want to make sure I fight the arm flab - I call it the "Grandma Arms" (okay, not all grandmas have them, I agree).

So tomorrow's weigh in day, I still have my pre-assembled list of excuses in case I'm up, and I'm hoping I won't need them!

I'm back on the wagon!

Good for you, Brandy girl. Sorry about TOM. It feels like an epidemic: you, me, Pixi, Jennifer. Sheesh. Keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow.

LOL... mine arrives every 28 days, and is gone in 3-4 days. I love birth control pills! :) My TOM is not a big deal, but I just feel tired but I'm sure you understand.

I am at that age where you never know if its coming on not - I like not having it but then it's a big surprise when it comes and I am never quite prepared! If you are looking for a great work out system I LOVE Susan Powters Life style X-change program - it really makes you feel like you worked but totally doable!! After having my first two kids I lost 80 pounds in 7 months with her Stop the Insanity Work out video!

Jesus Christ... TOM KILLS me. I have horrible choco cravings ): I wish I had more willpower to try to work out during my period, but the lower back pain is horrible. Maybe tomorrow I'll try a light jog and some yoga.
