19 days of feasting !

I enjoyed my birthday and the weddings of friends that came after a little excessively and yes i did gain 8 kgs from all the feasting but i do know that i was not overeating like i used to. I get full much faster these days. The large weight gain i attribute to eating all the foods i have not eaten in so long without maintenance.

I dont regret any of it, it was fun to relax a bit but now its time to get back on track. Im glad i had this break, i felt like i was in control of my cravings and i now know that i can get back to my plan easily. I have more confidence in my ability to ensure that i never become the weight i was before again. I feel recharged and ready to lose the last 20 kgs and finally get to my goal.

It will take about 2 weeks or so to lose what i have gained, but it was worth every bit.

Im back people !

As long as there are truly no regrets, and you can refocus. I'm glad you had fun and HAPPY BIRTHDAY! It's good to see you back on track. 20 kgs is definitely accomplishable, and that's what I have left too - we both know that. Go go go!

If you allow my comment, 8 Kilos in 19 days is simply insane! That means eating more that 70.000 Kcals that you burned. That averages 3500 Kcals/day... That's twice the recommended daily intake for an average girl! All these tells me two things: 1. That your weight method is not the best. I'm sure that between your last "thin" weight in and the first "not so thin" you had some food still to be fully processed in your body. That explains nearly 1 Kg Lost in the next day. 2. Independently of if they were 8 or 6 kilos won I think you need to improve your methods. Gaining so much weight that fast tells me that you haven't changed your eating ways. You loose weight when you are dieting but when you stop dieting you win back you weight. And very fast! I know that you have an excuse. But that is only the catch. There is always an excuse! It can be holidays, Christmas, a wedding, a birthday... Something that allows your mind to go back to your old ways. But the deep truth is that you wanted that. That you haven't changed what is most important: your way of eating when not on a diet. Please don't kill the messenger (or do if you feel like it). I just comment what I see as an unbiased buddy. I do wish the best for you. Cheers.

jurrabi, that absolutely does NOT mean eating more than 70,000 calories than she burned. Going off any low carb diet means water retention, & a gallon of water weighs over 8 lbs. I guarantee she'll lose the bulk of what she gained within the first few days of going back to her program. You can't possibly believe that after successfully losing the amount of weight she has to date that she hasn't changed her ways. There is nothing wrong with making the conscious decision to indulge & enjoy food without focusing on weight loss for a temporary period of time if you are willing to deal with the consequences. Your response was uneducated & just plain ridiculous. @Artica, glad you enjoyed yourself & I know you'll knock out those last 20 in no time girl!!!

I have to admit I don't know how "low carb" diets work kstub, so if, as you say, water retention is the main cause for the weight gain, that's really good news. About if I believe that someone can loose a lot of weight without changing what (for me) is more important, I don't only believe it but I've seen it! (for Gods sake, I've even lived it in some way). You can loose a LOT of weight simply with the force of will and a strict diet. That was the only way for my family before I "educated" myself and them. In several occasions my brothers and parents have loosed 20, 30 or 40 kilos only to win them all back, and more... And I'm sure everybody has similar stories. That's why I said (or I think, I must say) that the really important think to make that weight loss permanent is to change your ways. Your general approach to food. Everybody that tried to loose weight and is able to look with a little perspective can see it here (I mean in the fatsecret community) too. People that are doing very well suddenly disappear. Here people is active while they are dieting. Even some of them keep coming when they have small set backs, as far as they, personally, keep invested in their goals. But when people fall, they stop coming so no help can get to them... From my bodies here, only artica keeps on going. Maybe that's why my comment sounded a little harsh, and for that I apologize. I hope you know I only have your best interest in mind. I'm always here. Nice meeting you kstub!

Thanks everyone for the care concern and well wishes. I didn't actually go back to my old eating habits at all, my appetite has shrunk dramatically. I was working out the whole time too. Just did another 10 k successfully yesterday. Im not on here as much as i was because i got promoted at work so more responsibility less free time plus im getting ready to move in 6 months so things are hectic. Exercise keeps me sane. I will check back as often as i can. I'm determined to lose the last 15 kgs i have in the next 4 months or so. Thanks again everyone.
