Panigale1199's Journal, 13 May 2015

Since I had two cheat days in a row (Saturday & sunday) I decided to make it up with 3 low carb days in a row (Monday-Wednesday) then high carb on Thursday. Big mistake, I should of eaten higher carb yesterday for my MMA. I was so trained and tired. I barely could do 5 pushups. I felt awful. Never again...will always higher carb on heavy training days. Plus I hate when my performance isn't strong. Also I noticed that my weight is hovering between 151-152. I am hoping the carb cycling will help some fat loss. Ironic thing is a year ago when I was weighed in with a trainer..I was 146ish with 28% body fat...now I am 151-152 at 25% body fat...wth? So I apparently gained muscle and lost a little fat which is why the scale is heavier? If this is the case I can never expect to be 120 ever. I may get to 135 if I keep the lean muscle I have.

Your log came in on my recent activity page, and I wanted to weigh in. Just over a year ago, I weighed about 100 lbs, approximately 22% body fat. I am now hovering around 115 lbs, and 16% body fat. I've obviously lost some fat, but have visibly gained lean muscle. I actually prefer the heavier weight because of the muscle.

Thanks for the comment! I kept getting discouraged...My tummy even feels flatter without the scale going down. I guess I shouldn't worry too too much with the scale but with how I feel. I am with you on that. I rather keep the muscle

One pound of muscle is the same as one pound of fat...but muscle is denser and compact and smaller! So you can weigh more because you have gained lean muscle tissue and appear smaller - wear smaller clothes. I would rather be stronger, appear smaller and wear smaller clothes than worry about a number on the Idiot Box!

It's really not about what the scale says. It is all about health! Maybe it's time to tweek the menu balance; it would be a good idea to see a professional nutritionist at this point.

Thanks for all the comments everyone! I try not to worry about the # on the scale. I usually weigh in for the website. I agree I would rather weight more, be lean and strong wearing smaller clothing. and 3% isn't bad specially since I wasn't as focused on my diet this whole year. But I would like to lose 7% more and I think I will be on target!

So when you lose the other 7% you going to be ready to take Rousey? :)

Can you really do this and loose weight or are you on maitence

Haha...maybe after a few years of training :) @Addie I believe Carb cycling is possible to help lose body fat. I am not so interesting in losing overall weight because I have been building muscle as well. But I am in the processing of losing body fat. I am not on maintence yet

Muscle is much better then fat, don't look so much at the scale, just do the best you can.
