Somebody Else's Journal, 12 May 2015

Well, I've been anti-milk for a while, but I need breakfast cereal and the fiber from that, so, having tried the protein shake and cereal mixed together method, finding it gross, I decided to go to the shop and get some organic semi-skimmed milk. That OK? xD Is quite nice to have milk again, and at least it'll actually get used, but only for cereal. I have no liquid measuring jug so I can't calorie count the milk, yet.

I have found one of my favorite combinations to be Syntha-6 Chocolate-Peanut Butter protein powder, 6-oz 1% milk, and rice crispies...delicious!

Have you tried soy or almond milk? I don't know if you're cutting out the milk to avoid the dairy or if its a calorie thing, but there are other options out there. If you don't want to commit to a full container, typically they do sell single serving cartons of the soy at least (not sure on the almond). Good luck!

Oooh, almond! I forgot all about that. I didn't see any in the Co-Op I always go to for regular stuff like that, but I'll have a better look next time. Ta!

Oh, and it's a calorie thing. ;) It's also that the time I did get milk, I never used. I'm a single guy, more or less living alone, not eating breakfast and drinking herbal tea... so... not much use in getting milk! Lol Until now. :)

you can just eat breakfast cereal without milk, like trail mix

I've been drinking Coconut milk since last summer. Thankfully Starbucks has finally gotten on the band wagon and is offering it as a milk alternative as well. Goes great on cereal. I drink the plain, but there is a Vanilla option.

I definitely go for the soy milk. I don't like regular milk because it leaves a gross film in the back of my throat, and skim milk tastes like watered-down milk.

Unsweetened vanilla almond milk is great stuff - I actually prefer it to milk now. Low fat, good protein and low carb. Give it a try!

I use the unsweetened vanilla almond milk in everything, even my coffee. You can usually find single serve containers as well if a quart is too much.

25 Cal. Cashew milk is good too. Now they have Almond-Coconut milk mixed together. I buy the unsweetened type. I think that Milk has a lot of sugar. :) It is always good to read the labels. I freaked at the sugar count that's in cow's milk!~Ann :)

I drink Silk Almond Milk, tastes good and is healthy. I don't tolerate milk well and get my calcium mostly from Silk. Can't take calcium tabs either, tried them all, even chews.

Oh Em Gee! The most delicious smoothie ever. *_* I just mixed up my chocolate-flavored protein shake with a load of almond milk. Incredibly smooth, thick, and creamy. *drools*
