Went to the Dr yesterday and got his results today. My A1C is at 6.5 which is good i think. He wants me to continue with insulin injections 4x per day but only need to test blood sugar 3 days per week and only in am and before supper on those days. Maybe I will feel a little less like a pin cushion! Triglycerides are at 219 Cholesterol is at 263 with good only at 25 and bad at 141 so going on cholesterol med Lipitore now. I guess it never ends until it ends! :)

Hello I'm new on here. But I understand the wanting to not take insulin injections any more. I have been diabetic over 10 yrs and in all that time had only one or two low blood sugars. Also have gone to diabeties training and to nutritonts getting unuseful information at least for me. I found out that only dieticans are required to have a degree. So I requested one and I am so glad I did. She has a fact based aproach. And since she put me on a diet and gave me exact food to eat I've in 2 weeks lost 13 pounds, yes thats drastic it works out to almost a pound a day, great since I'm a very large lady was 333 lbs now 320. I did have a battle with low blood sugars but she gave me instructions on taking more blood sugar tests and proceedures to follow. My insulin has been lowered from daily 18u, 21u, 19u to 11u 11u 8u and look like it will go lower. I finally see daylight at the end of this tunnel. Hope this helps you in some way.

Wow Roienell, that's a great weight loss! Also it gives me hope that I will be able to cut down on insulin and maybe get on pills rather than injections. Keep up the great work!

Cut out all carbs except fiber. Eat leafy protein, all the non-trans-fat, and fiber you want, eliminate all else.
