Jonathan Walsh's Journal, 06 May 2015

Here is another day given to us to tackle the tasks we have set out to tackle. Let the energy of this day recharge your soul & give you a better outlook on the journey ahead. While the trip may be tough & at times may seem like the effort is not paying off; rest assured, that if you are putting in the work, the fruit of your efforts will one day be appreciated by none other other than yourself.

So keep pushing your limits on this climb. Seek to go beyond what you think you can do & break new barriers. Forge ahead & allow your feet to walk upon new ground. Set your mind to invincible & know there is nothing that you cannot accomplish if you are willing to do the work, put in the effort, & eliminate all excuses.

This is a hard climb. The task at hand may seem overwhelming. The little victories may come few & far between. But you can do it. If you truly want it, you can do it. If you have made the effort to start, you can do it. You keep building the better you & you do not quit & it will be done.

Keep your eyes trained on the peak. You don't look back. You do not quit. This is what you do, to be the you; you want to be. You do this until it is done.

Remember gang, we are a band of climbers of mountains. Climbers are not conquered by mountains, they conquer mountains. Climbers do not break when they fall upon the rocks, they find the break in the rock to propel them forward. Climbers do not fret when when the cliffs are steep & challenging to their skills, they know those cliffs are preparing them for greater challenges ahead by honing those skills. Climbers do not congregate at base camp to celebrate, they open the champagne on the peak.

So pack your gear securely. Take care to make room for that old wooden box that holds your fragile, long stem glass wrapped in soft velvet lining. And bring that glass to the top of this mountain for us to share in the taste of victory. We are going to the peak & you are a part of we. Accept that fact & lock it into your mentality. You are going to the peak.

Thanks for the inspiration Jon! Let us move up to the summit together. Helping to pull each other up. Minor slips are to be expected but we will simply pick ourselves up and keep climbing. We are only defeated when we give up.

Inspiring! I needed this at a time where I've been yo-yo-ing back and forth btwn 180 and 183/4 for weeks despite a low caloric intake. I've been up in arms since cutting my calories and increasing my physical activity; have been dumb-founded at the complete lack of results. This post has inspired me to keep on course. I lost 40 lbs a couple of years ago - no reason why I can't do it again. Just got to find my groove I 'spose. Thanks for the encouraging words :)

We are going to do this! I don't care if it's only a few ounces at a time, we are going to do it! We'll do it together!
