Back on track today. Kale smoothie for breakfast, a lentil and veggie curry stew for lunch with homemade whole grain bread, not sure about dinner yet; I do have some baby greens in the garden that could be picked.

Will get at least some of the yard mowed after work. The weather looks pretty good for the week except for a chance of rain, of course on Saturday. Hoping to get some work done on the yard and my pantry done this week.

It will be a tough day at work. We found out Saturday on facebook that one of our co-workers suddenly died on Friday. She and her DH were in China on vacation. She had been complaining of bad allergy problems before she left. It became much worse there and ended up in the ER with septic pneumonia and died the next day. She was 48. It will be busy so that will help everyone.

Oh may goodness - that is a sad loss. I hope your employer has support for the people who worked most closely with her.

It's chilly out low 60's and windy, the grass will wait for tomorrow. I'll do a few things inside on my pantry and make some dinner. I'm exhausted, just want to go to sleep and it's 5:00! I think it's the after affect from the day. It was a long very subdued day at work. I'm fine but some others were extremely upset. I felt bad for the managers who were all in early and had to tell those who did not know, and checking on everyone as they came in. They spent most of the day in meetings and it was announced there would be grief counselors for both group and individual sessions later in the week. My ICU and ER years of experience I think help me cope better than some. Certainly she will be a loss to all of us (I've worked with her for 6 years) and my heart goes out to her DH, son and DIL. Makes one remember anything with your lungs or heart is not something to put off getting it checked. Pneumonia used to kill about 30% of the people who contracted it before antibiotics and antibacterials.

Really too young. I kept asking her if she had checked with her doc. Her response was it's just allergies. She would not go back to her doc as she was so excited about her trip.. Dang! Please don't ignore lung issues. They can be deadly. I wonder if she had would she be alive today.

thanks redgirl. Kale smoothie. 1 banana, 3/4 cup of chopped kale, 3/4 cup of unsweetened almond milk, several ice cube. That is the basic. I add 1 TBS. each of nutritional yeast, flax seed, wheat germ, sometimes chia seeds. Zap in in my bullet and it gets me through till lunch, unless they mess with my lunch schedule...... Easy and quick start to my mornings, I drink it on the way to work. Sometimes I add other fruit, papaya is one I like, sometimes some lime basil.

So sad, it's been a long week at work, most are coping well. They did have grief counselors here for 2 days, we have a large dept. From what I heard they helped quite a few who were having a tough time coping. I'm good.. Homemade bread is mind also. I'm ok if I just make my usual whole grain but if I make something different, I'm in trouble. LOL

Ouch - home made bread! That is one of my "foods without brakes" so I try to avoid at all costs. I hope that you and your colleagues get back on an even-footing soon x
