My "Good Friday" started off not so good...Hubby and I argued about something and feeling like everything is closing in on us etc...family relationship with one member is always strained and causes a riff...also, he really lamented to me about his stress level and how he really needs to diet and exercise and I can relate, but I can't do it for him. My journey started years ago and he tries to travel along with me, but tends to fall off the wagon...I am not hard core, as you can see by my snail's pace results...but I have to be careful due to the fact that I have OCD tendencies and used to have every eating disorder in the book! I try not to eliminate any one food or make anything forbidden due to the boomerang effect it can have. I have had success with South Beach or Atkins and I know as we age less refined carbs are good and we have managed to eat very healthily. The last couple of days have been off for me, but it was due to lack of planning....I just need to vent...his stress level is affecting my stress level and it is snowballing out of control here in April! Enough now, Everyone have a Happy Easter weekend and enjoy yourselves! :)

I love to hear this! I have twice previously lost a lot of weight, and my husband (who needs to lose more weight than me, and needs to lose it more than me) starts with me but then falls off the bandwagon. He never gets to his goal weigh, and is almost permanently on a diet, in his half-arsed fashion. It really annoys me because I don't do things by halves- I just set a goal and go for it, so it annoys me when my husband whines about his lack of progress when I don't think he's trying hard enough. But I also don't know if there's anything I can do to help. I have tried to get him interested in exercising with me, but he resists/ makes excuses and then I get more annoyed. Me cooking 100% of what he eats helps, but he still ends up eating things that I didn't give him. :/

You can vent here as much as you need! We all are here for you. Release yourself from perfectionism - do what you can do and be at peace.

Hang in there. Hubby has to deal with his own issues. He should be proud of your success. I lost 25 pounds last year because I wanted to. It takes an incredible amount of persistence and patience and hard work. Nothing worth accomplishing is ever easy and when it's about your own body no one else can make it happen. I recommend seeing a nutritionist and setting a plan with them. No doubt life and work get in the way constantly.

I also have a hubby who can't get with the program. When he eats at home, he gets the healthy meals I prepare, but he cannot seem to do that for himself, going out to lunch from work everyday. I often invite him to the gym with me, but, although he grumbles about needing to lose weight, he doesn't take me up on that. I have just resigned myself to setting a good example in the family. It is working with the kids, but the man hasn't caught on yet! :)
