Draglist's Journal, 26 March 2015

Woke at 198.8. Found a refrigerator yesterday at the training facility so did cottage cheese for lunch. Slept better last night but still up for two hours in the middle. Targeted 1828 calories today. Came home at 200.4 lbs. Ate right on calorie target but that included a jar of olives that really cranked up the sodium! Restless night has me wiped out and not feeling the treadmill. Tomorrow is weigh in day, so might skip it until then!

Only cottage cheese? You're better than me. I'm trying the cottage cheese thing and its hard to figure out what it tastes like. I know it's high in protein so I'm gonna try to follow your lead.

I slept better last night as well. Taking my cal/mag supplement really helped! I hope you have a great day!

Hey Bill, I guess the protein powder mixes in ok with the cottage cheese? Sounds like a great way to get lots of protein in. I just made cottage cheese from scratch 2 days ago, it turned out pretty good considering it was my first time. I can control how much salt it's got that way.

I would love the scratch recipe! I put the cottage cheese in the blender to give it a more creamy texture. I don't like the clumps when I am making a protein dessert, or smoothie! Thanks for sharing! :)~Ann

Congrats on teaching classes. I am sure you do a great job. I love cottage cheese. In fact I joke, If I gave up cheeses all together I probably would drop 15 pounds!!

I like cottage cheese so I think I will try that protein packed snack option. The idea of blending it is even more interesting!

I eat 1/2 cup of cottage cheese every day. Never heard there was unsalted cottage cheese! I need that. :)

Thanks, Bill. I will look for it. I may have to go to a different grocery store. Mine seems to have only two choices: low fat or 4% fat. No unsalted cottage cheese at all. :'(

Deb & Bill note I usually do the bulk of my food shopping at discount sores like walmart or save a lot, But there certain items on variety issues you can only get at a publix winn dixie albertsons ect that i will shop as well- on cottage cheese only certain stores carry daisy 2% or salt free cottage cheese breakstone ect- those usually need to be bought at a regular grocery store vs discount
