CMR's Journal, 22 June 2011

Hi everyone!!! Long time, no see, write, whathaveyou.

I don't know if I'm back full time on the Journal/Forum side, but I NEED the food and exercise logs big time. I also very much missed the camaraderie of my FS buddies. Hopefully I didn’t lose any in my absence…

Okay here it is: I haven't checked in like I should for a number of reasons, chief among them was my employment. A secondary reason is being out of town for a few weekends in a row during April/May and I fell out of habit.

Regarding my job: my consulting gig that I'd been doing for the past two plus years came to an end at the end of May with the sale of the business (I'm a CPA, if you didn't know already). I am also a licensed real estate salesperson and as the sale’s closing date approached, there was a lot of issues to get through. On top of that I was looking for other avenues of income. I toyed with continuing to hang my own shingle, but I needed a few more clients to take the place of my primary one, which was being sold...During that time, I was also going through the interview process for "steadier" W-2 type work, if there is such a thing. That said, I started a new job a couple weeks ago!!!! My Wife and I are so excited about this opportunity, it’s crazy stupid. It’s exactly what I wanted to do on my own, but now I have the back office support and sales staff to focus on my clients’ more complex issues.

Continuing with the good, The UConn Men won the NCAA Tourney, we went down to D.C. in April to see my BIL and GF, We took another breather to Minnesota (when I got the call back for the final interview), the aforementioned BIL and GF got engaged (which means a wedding in the not so distant future), the Boston Bruins are Stanley Cup Champions (great playoffs. Is there any more difference in intensity between regular season and the playoffs than Hockey? I think not.), my Brother and SIL had another baby, and the Red Sox are playing pretty good ball right now…I don’t think I missed anything but FS tells me I’ve been gone for over 44 days…

Not all has been great. I have gained a few pounds…I’m up to 228 again, which is 10 pounds off my low. But alas I will be tracking food again and checking in with my buddies.

Good Wednesday, all!!

4 pounds in 44 days is not bad honestly. Congrats on the new job, and the new baby in the family!

Good to have you back. I did realize we hadn't heard from you in awhile. Good luck with the new job and congrats on the Bruins. What a run they made to win the Cup!

Thanks All. It's good to be back checking in. Holy Cow, Paesan!!! I saw your new profile picture and way to go!!! We gotta do something about your Yankee attire, but it is what it is...I'm disappointed with myself gaining back some weight (29#'s off my goal), but I'm very happy for you (For that matter, I'm very happy for all my buddies who stayed their course and were stronger people than I over the last 2 months). You're not considered the "big" guy anymore, right? What a great first half of 2011 it's been. Keep it up. Bren - Thanks. While I love playing the part of the cool uncle, hopefully I can report something on my own homefront soon. Babs - I told you I had some goings on to deal with, but I'd be back ;). It's summer time too, which means a plethora of grilled fish recipes on the horizon.
