NatashaChiara's Journal, 18 March 2015

Another journal for myself, after this morning's upset, to end the day on a better note.

As much as I love FS and the support I get here I sometimes feel like it pushes me to constantly be thinking about food and I feel like I let my life revolve around food. That really isn't what I want so I'm pushing myself to be more positive in other areas of my life too.

Today was actually a nice relaxing day and one of my favorite things happened/is happening this afternoon. It's RAINING! I love the rain. Since we've been in a drought it has been a rare occurrence but when it does happen everything else stops for me. I lit some candles and have been relaxing on the bed listening to and watching the rainfall. Though it is pretty cold out I had the window open earlier and nothing in the world smells as wonderful as fresh-almost-spring rain. Another sign of spring... I was able to hear the birds that have come back singing and they sounded just as happy with the rain as I am, such a lovely sound. I'm hoping this is a good sign for the spring and summer. We've had a pretty decent amount of snowfall this winter and I really hope it is the same with the rain. I'm hoping for some AMAZING thunderstorms! I love those just as much as rain.

I hope everyone has a lovely evening and a great day tomorrow!

I completely understand where ur coming from! When I used to "diet" I felt like all I was thinking about was food! and to me that kinda defeats the purpose of trying to get healthy...so I personally don't write down every morsel I eat... I write down a few things I have, and not every day and mostly I focus on my fitness and how I feel in general. This go round in not revolved around food at all. Im eating VERY healthy but im not thinking about it at all. :)

Nice - I understand it feels like the focus becomes food - I think if it as monitoring myself throughout the day so I have a plan in place. I enjoy rain, too.

I can relate. I find some days that I am just constantly thinking about what I have eaten, what I will eat, and what I won't eat. For me, it works to keep an accurate and complete food log as well as taking pride in the exercise that I do. I have to force myself to not dwell on it. I am envious of your rainy day! It never seems to rain here in the Bay Area anymore. :(

Glad you put the thoughts of food behind you and did what you wanted to do, smelling and watching the refreshing rain. Brings back memories for all of us. Rain is a blessing for this dry earth. Thanks for the great journal.

Stay focused on your goal. The goal is not eating food, the goal is feeling great and being healthy.
