Weight still bouncing around. We'll see how it goes on higher protein. My diet now is closer to the Protein Power diet plan rather than Atkins. At least all of the protein has really curbed my appetite.

I work out this afternoon with my trainer. It should be fun and I'll probably be exhausted afterwords. At least I can notice the gains I've made.

Have a good day everybody!

58% of protein turn to glucose which turn to fat.

From my reading it's insulin that controls fat storage. As long as the diet does not promote an insulin spike the body can burn both glucose and fat. Any extra protein does does get converted to glucose but at 87% efficiency. This blunts any insulin response and does not promote fat storage. The Dukan diet which is an almost pure protein diet in the first phase works because of this. So while protein is both ketogenic and non-ketogenic it is essential for body repair and muscle synthesis which is what my body appears to be doing at this point due to my workouts.

Well i'm on keto and is common for people to over eat proteins, even more with those going to gym. I'm at 100g now at 66kg bw and i still think is a lot, i do have strength/muscle gains, a typical bodybuilding protein intake will put me at 150-200 grams which equal fat gain.

AH yes - the protein controversy. It is a dilemma for some of us. I think when doing a pure ketogenic program they say moderate protein under 30% - but catherder is doing a protein power plan and must do what best works for his/her own program! And a loss is to be celebrated!
