Enjoying a nice rainy Saturday here in New England. Up early this morning, made some turkey spinach meatballs and a sauce for Monday night. Keep an eye out for that! Bab's Maple Salmon is marinating in the fridge for tomorrow night. All going according to plan so far this weekend unless I get thrown an unexpected curve.
Went to TJ Maxx this morning and picked up a new wok. Have been wanting a new one for awhile. Got all the fixin's for a great stirfry for tonight. DH has asked for some cupcakes with vanilla pudding filling and chocolate frosting. Holy Cow....really!!!!! I will make them for him. If I really want one, I will plan it in for tomorrow, but thinking I can stay away from them because I bought some really yummy flavors of frozen fat free yogurt that will make me a very happy girl with some fresh fruit on it.
Left over cupcakes go to the office for the vultures on Monday!

Oh yeah, just to let you all know, the last of the Prune Brownies went down the garbage disposal this morning. I deleted the recipe from my cookbook never to make again. They ended up hard as a brick after day one. Not a winner around here. Biggest mistake was I told DH there were prunes in them, after that he wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole!!!

Gotta get upstairs, hubby is trying to mount the flat screen my parents got us for x-mas on the wall in the work-out room. He needs me to oversee the big job.

Hope everyone is having a fun day!

You've done a great job planning your meals ahead again, Babs! I know you'll enjoy that new wok. I must say I'm sorry to hear about the demise of the prune brownies. They were something I was interested in trying. Have a good night, my friend!

I really need to get some more salmon. That recipe was so good! Babs, what kind of wok did you get. I'm looking for either one with a completely flat bottom or an electric one. I got rid of my old electric wok many years ago due to lack of use. Missing it now! I'm sorry the prune brownies didn't work-'chuckle'- :)..... I doubt my husband would have eaten them either.

MSL- It really helps with grocery shopping to plan ahead, I find I spend less money and then I don't get all hairbrained after a long day trying to think what to make. I also do alot of prep on Sunday for the week ahead.

Kstride- I got a flat bottom wok. I have an electric flat top stove so I just have to be careful not to scratch it but it should work fine. Be sure to get one with handles on both sides, mine are heavy wood/metal forged not screwed in. I have always found that my woks were too small so I made sure to get the 14" this time for plenty of room to move the food around. Should get the job done!

Enjoy that wok - I still stir fry in my frying pan. Guess I should take a cue from you and step up my kitchen equipment.

Buffy - Invest in a good wok, they are really worth it. It is one of those kitchen items I can not do without. Quick cooking, one pan, protein & veg method and some great noodles (if your plan allows)!

Babs-I have the same kind of stove and have gone through 3 sets of pans to find a couple of brands that really work. I'll look for a super flat bottom large wok! I'm tired of trying to fit everything into a large size skillet and overcooking things. Thanks so much!!
