HCB's Journal, 22 February 2015

Greetings my buddies!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! I just got back from a great workout at Orange Theory Fitness then treated myself with a pedicure using purple nail polish! Such fun.

I am noticing a little irritability and wonder if it has been since I got my net carbs down in the low 20's...I am trying to stay below 25 net carbs with under 15% in the macros.

I seem more hungry the last three days but do not want to raise my RDI. I have been eating moderate protein, high fat and low carb. I hope I continue to adjust this week.

The words of the week:
No excuses - just do it

I am dedicated, determined, and diligent.

Pretty toes rock! I am sporting some starshell pink ones myself lol. I find myself in the same boat(though there's a bit more carbs in my boat lol)as you so I can't offer any wisdom there. I was wondering if the heavy workouts might be a factor, too.

Pay attention to how you are feeling. It is not unusual for women to struggle with energy, mood and hunger if the carbs get too low. I found adding back some starchy veggies, or a little white rice, usually in the evening, help rebalance everything. Our hormonal balance is different than men, and we do not always do as well as men on very low carb. The weight loss may slow, but if you feel much better, IMHO it is worth the trade off. Make adjustments, see how you feel, and decide what works best for your body. You are the expert on how you feel and perform.

Thanks yduj57 - I am doing Paleo - no dairy or grains including rice. Starchy stuff is a trigger. I could eat more in low glycemic fruit or veggies, though.
