Well today you had some major challenges and you did GREAT!! The BIG buffet at the casino was no challenge for you - being very picky and scouting out all the stations before loading your plate. I'm sure your carbs were a little higher then normal - but you did GREAT!!

And I know how bad you wanted that homemade pound cake, fresh hot chocolate chip cookies and pizza bread your friend made...but you said NO. You had the treats in the car for 30 minutes and then gladly gave them to your mother...THANK goodness! That was way to much temptation for one night! Yes I admit it was hard - but the feeling of accomplishment and peace of mind is worth a lot more. Just one taste and you would have been out of control...so you just said NO...CONGRATS!

Keep up the good work!! Remember...you have yet another BIG hurdle this weekend...camping with the family of carb lovers! Just plan out your menus and stay focused. The effort will pay off next week!!

You can do it! I just went camping last week, and had to make two separate planning lists for food. My husband couldn't believe all the food we were bringing, but it was because there was such a separation of his food and mine. As you said, just plan it out carefully and stick to it! The hardest part for me was when the kids were making smores. I SOOOO wanted the chocolate!

Yes camping is going to be a challenge but I'm up for it! Ham is baking in the oven as we speak, taking steaks to grill, will make my cheesecake muffins for a special dessert/snack when needed and nuts for long hikes. Local restaurant makes zero carb bread so I'm taking a half loaf for quick sandwiches on the road and salads at every meal. Really looking forward to this trip to prove to myself - I can do it!! Amazing thing...all the other high carb food really doesn't bother me any more.
