Hi and welcome to Day 3 of 14 of my Raw Til 4 Challenge. Honestly, it might be Day 3 of 7 (or Day 3 of 3) if I feel like I felt yesterday. I felt perfectly fine on Day 1, but yesterday was a completely different issue. All of the fructose affected my blood sugar. It rose during breakfast and stayed high until I had my final meal of lentil/spinach soup. I don't like when my blood sugar is high as much as I don't like it when it is low.

Our resident body builder/trainer coworker instructed me to lower my fruit consumption and increase the vegetables. He stated that he can't eat like his fitness inspirations because the reality of his life is that he works a sit down job. He advised me that he thought Raw Til 4 is a good challenge, but that I need to tailor it to our sedentary worklife.

So, today's breakfast smoothie is a large handful of spinach, two obsenely long carrots, and blueberries. No smoothie for lunch, instead I have two mason jar salads with pinapple, tomato, orange bell peppers, and romaine. I'm using lemon juice as my dressing. I do have my bananas for snack.

Last night's prep work was much quicker!

In other news, I get an email back from the interview. And... it's not a reject email :-) We have moved into the next stage of checking my references. Things are really looking good, but again. I want to tamper down my excitement until I get an offer. Getting turned down by the last company really crushed me, so let's not repeat that shall we?

Here's to a good day!

Onward...

Awesome news, onward! :)(I get weird with too much sugar too, more veggies is a good idea)

I overload on the fruits for breakfast but then I do veggies most of the rest of the day. The trick really is to add a bit of whole grain or protein with it to slow down the spike but you can't do that on the raw challenge. A wee bit of flax or oatmeal powder would help.

Fingers crossed you get a job offer :-)

Good Morning...sounds like you have the right mindset moving forward. Also, your at-worker Bodybuilder/Personal Trainer is EXACTLY right. Though Fruits are healthy for us, if not eaten properly and at the right times it can slow down progress. Keep going hard.

I couldn't focus at all yesterday and got no work done. I don't like not doing any work on Monday because Monday is usually my most productive day of the week. I usually eat old fashioned oatmeal with dried fruit tossed in for sweetness. It has been my prefered breakfast for 7 months and it keeps my blood sugar balanced. But, it's not raw so bye bye oatmeal until the end of this challenge. Yes, fingers crossed on the job offer!!! :)

Hi @bgreen81, how do fruitarians live? I thought that I would love this, but as it turns out I barely like it. So far, post breakfast smoothie I think I'm doing good today. Drinking water and peeing like a racehorse :)

Love reading your post, thought about trying raw but haven't followed through. Much success with your challenge.

Thank you @mysize10. I think raw is worth a try because it has worked for so many people. With my blood sugar issues, this may not be the challenge for me. So today will be the last day I do it. Back to cooking my vegan meals and living a happy and healthy whole-food, plant-based life!

I have managed my diabetes with diet and exercise by eating a plant-based diet. I love it, I'm a firm believer in our diet being the main component toward good health. My husband just informed me he wants to go back to doing more vegan meals, he said he felt better eating that way.
