Instantcrazy's Journal, 01 February 2015

Feel free to ignore this post. I'm just getting things off my chest. It always makes me feel better to journal here when I'm stressed.

Let me tell you about my day. It snowed last night. Big, wet heavy snow. My day started with being awoken by sirens. LOTS of sirens. I hopped on my police scanner app and learned there was a semi overturned on the interstate about a mile or two away. The girlfriend and I were glued to the scanner listening to all the updates. Turns out it was a tanker hauling 40,000 lbs of dimethylamindproplymine, a flammable material used for making shampoo (which they didn't immediately know because the driver amazingly didn't know what he was hauling, go to jail, go directly to jail). O_O This was about 7am it's now 3pm and they are no where near having it cleared up and have had to evacuate people living in the area. There's some kind of white vapor coming from the trailer. They say it's going to be another 12 hours to clean up.

Anyhoo, we had to go to work. I took the girlfriend to work. Roads were terrible and I was pretty much driving in low gear the whole time. On the way there all of a sudden my car freaks out and I end up careening toward the curb. The curb knocks me back into the left lane of traffic, where I get hit by another car and we both end up in the oncoming lane. Luckily there was no traffic oncoming. Everybody is fine. The girlfriend is sore. Amazingly there wasn't a scratch on either car. It does sound like her alignment is off I HOPE. My car has a bent rim and two broken hubcaps. That's where we're starting anyway. This is either going to be the cheapest wreck I've had or really expensive. Ironically, I had a wreck on January 30, 2014. That wreck wasn't my fault and totaled my car. This car is the replacement and I don't have it anywhere near paid off, but compared to the semi driver and all the emergency personnel, I'm having a good day.

Good that you are expressing those emotions rather than eating them.

So glad you are okay!

Thanks! It was a very slow motion wreck, so now it's more about money than people Thank god! I find journaling here gets things off my chest where previously I would have probably been shoveling chocolate in my face.. Plus, recently I have a very Taoist slant on life. You know your'e going to get served a sh** sandwich at some point in your life, doesn't mean you have to eat it.

Re: your slant - check out ACT Therapy. Specifically, the book/workbook Get Out of Your Mind and Into Your Life. It might be useful, particularly managing the stalker situation. And you'll notice that in creating your veg group, you're living your values. And that really matters.

Cool! Thanks, can't wait to check that out!

ACT is a fabulous model - I agree with JW4444. The books are written by Steve Hayes.

Despite your bad start of the day, your post is upbeat. Good for you! I would have been a stressed out nervous ball of c@$@ after the accident. Don't even want to think of the vapor from those chemicals in the semi!

Aww, hope you get your car situation straightened out. Glad you are both ok. Makes you wonder about shampoo toxic chemicals?????

Thanks for listening! I handle stress well, to a point, everybody has a point. I didn't sleep well last night, but that was stress, too many cats sleeping on me, fighting with my crap, and going back and forth between hot and cold (cat warmers). It did give me the opportunity to think of a duh idea. If the problem with my car is a bent rim, putting the spare on should tell us without investing any money. Cross your fingers please.

It was kinda scary listening to the scanner. The wreck happened where 3 interstates meet, and they were having to coordinate how to get people there. One officer said he was coming in one way and another responded that will put you right in the vapor cloud is that your intent? They kept monitoring wind speed and direction, and could only talk on grounded radios. I guess they use that in all kinds of soap. Wonder what would happen if I stuck a match in my shampoo.

Lmao! that was supposed to be fighting with my cpap not my crap.

wahoo! put the spare on and the car stopped shaking! Keep those fingers crossed for me Pat you're a lucky charm. Just need there to be a cheap fix for the other car now too.
