Today we are celebrating my daughter's 25th birthday. So I am going over alittle in carbs. Not by a ton but more then I'd like. Total net carbs is 54 like to be 40 or less. However, it's my daughter's birthday and she is gonna want me to eat a piece of cheesecake. So I'll make her happy with a half portion :) Have a great day everyone!!

In my humble opinion, celebrations and events are to enjoy, even with a bit of indulgence. The next meal or next day will be waiting for you to make amends. Have fun!

I like the half portion idea! If we can learn to moderate the special "treats" then we can do this as a lifetime plan.

Congratulations to your daughter and it's a mile stone marker for you, but why are you setting yourself up. Instead of admitting defeat, how about getting a litttle extra walk, bike ride, swim, or other activity (key word here today activity), before you indulge in the birthday dinner and desserts. Trust me I a true chocolate nut, but kickin the sugar is very import to me this year! I love encouraging other and empowering you to see the best you. Take a look in the mirror at yourself thus far and ask do you really need to add extra weight. I being a daughter would have love to tell my parent to eat healthier and get more active but a last to late. Your daughter would love to have you around for many more birthdays to come. (Just make health choices) Have fun.

Thank you everyone for your encouragement and advice... I am way under my caloric intake for day I am allowed 2900 calories. I am only taking in 1400 and only 52 total carbs so I really am not hurting my diet. Just having a piece of cheesecake something I usually wouldn't have :)

Small portion of sweet stuff, good plan. Adjust your carbs somewhere else today.
