It does become a habit and after every workout you should be proud of yourself, you did something good for your body.

I've been there. Good job talking yourself into pushing past your bad day. Also I can attest to what your professor said, after I made going to the gym part of my routine, I find it harder not to go than to just because If I don't go when I usually do I don't know what to do instead. Stick to it and next time you have an off day it will be easier to talk yourself into going, I promise. Cheers :)
