kitty-eared-girl's Journal, 18 January 2015

While its nice to see the numbers declining, I'm having a difficult time regaining that balance of eating just enough that I'm not constantly hungry while not overeating. I've been ravenous every day this week, and I'm hoping that calms down sooner rather than later.

Been working with some zumba videos from Youtube as I dislike the post-New Years gym crowds and am short on funds because of the holidays.

How is everyone else fairing after the New Year?

Let me tell you Kitty, you are not alone. With the weather like it is here in Western NY of the US, you can't really do much in the way of outside activity if you do not enjoy the cold weather (which I hate) ( I always thought I should have been from somewhere like LA or Central California) but we just have to tough it out.

Don't allow yourself to get constantly hungry. What is your daily calorie goal? Maybe try increasing by 200 or so which would allow you to have protein e.g. egg, turkey roll up, fruit etc. to take the edge off. You are on the right track so just try tweaking it a bit. Remember this is a lifetime change not just a temporary thing. Good luck and hang in there. Zumba forever :-) Also remember as females we need strength training.

@skydiverjim - I feel your pain. NE Ohio is gray, dreary and bitterly cold. Looking forward to the spring and summer when I can pick up my running routine outdoors again. Born in FL originally, I do miss the warmer climates! @anitabos - The calorie thing is definitely something I understand, its just a matter now get my body recalibrated. After being terrible through the holidays, it'll be an adjustment period for sure.
