Getting Back on Track
I just realized my last entry was June 30th of 2014. Last year ended up not being a good year for me. A couple of weeks after that I was diagnosed with Ocular Melanoma in my right eye (cancer.) That ended up in about 3 months worth of tests, surgery, follow-ups, poor vision in the right eye, and pretty much depression. I would have like to have found a vat of my late aunt's macaroni & cheese and ate my way out of it.
The good news is that the tumor has responded positively to treatment and the genetic profile is extremely low-risk for metastasis. Now I've gotta get back on the losing weight/getting healthy plan so I can hang around this rock for several more years; there's too much for me to accomplish!
To those of you who've read this; if you don't get your eyes checked regularly please get an annual dilated eye exam. They can tell you so much...
