skwhite's Journal, 31 December 2014

This year I decided to keep track of my exercising and see how far I went. So here are the grand total's:
Walking: 207.91 miles
Biking: 1580.39
Jogging: 585.07
For a total of 2373.37 miles all together.

I encourage you to try keep track, for more than one reason. If you don't reach the goal you had set for the week or month it's a positive thing to see what you did accomplish. It's a daily and monthly reminder of how far you have come, because when I started my journey in 2012 I was no where near those numbers and it encourages me to go farther next year.

Happy New Year Everyone!!

Wow...great year. What general part of the country do you live in? I live in Pennsylvania and I have a hard time getting miles on my bike this time of year. I bought cold weather gear, so we'll see how it goes. Congratulations on a great 2014.

Mike I live in Northern California and it hasn't even got up to freezing yet today. I ride a stationary bike that is in my garage. It's slightly warmer than outside and in the summer It's slightly cooler than outside. =)

Well, SFO is 4 hours south of us so we here in Northern Cali like to refer to it as central California, LOL. Are you headed North, South or East of San Fran? The missions are really neat if you like history, there is also the Hearst Castle, 101 is a great drive that is beautiful and lot's of places to stop and get out. Monterrey is a cool town with lot's to see. There's the boardwalk in SF, that's fun and great people watching! Depending on how far north you go the Redwoods are a must, lot's of trails to walk on.

What an accomplishment! Very proud of you! I like the idea of keeping track the way you have, and I believe I may try to do something similar this year but on a smaller scale :) Thanks for sharing your success story, it's an inspiration.

This is the kind of thing I so appreciate. It's nice to see you capture these stats and be able to put them in perspective. I'm inspired to do the same. I've set a goal to run 600 miles this year. Thanks!
