I MAY HAVE STRING BEAN SYNDROME. So my Doctor has me on a low carb diet that is very similar to the Atkins Diet. She told me she would be happy if I lost weight and went below 235. So I set my goal for 235. As my weight came down, so did my A1C. In fact, it came down so much, I don't have to take insulin. That's real good news. Well I've learned to eat a healthier way of life and I'm ok with it. But as I live this healthier way of life, I'm accidentally losing more weight. HA! So the question I have to ask my Doctor, when I see her again in January, is how do I stop losing weight? If I can't eat sugar and carbs, it seems that it's inevitable for me to eventually get as thin as a string bean. Hence the string bean syndrome. Does anyone actually read this. LOL. Sometimes it's fun just to amuse myself. Merry Chrismas and Happy New Year friends! Stay safe my friends!!!

If only we ever had to ask 'how to stop'... and it not be a health issue. Did you ever see StringBean on Hee-Haw?

Good job on keeping your sugars low and getting off your insulin!

To slow your weight loss, you could increase your calories by adding low carb low sugar items: seeds, nuts, and dairy. Try these: almonds, walnuts, cashews, peanuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, hazelnuts, flax seeds, macadamia nuts, plain yogurt, milk, buttermilk, butter, cheese, cottage cheese, cream cheese and sour cream.

You should speak with your Primary Care Physician about your weight loss and your concerns. Diabetic's, are usually given an ADA (1800, 2000, or 2200) diet, so it is best to speak with the doctor, dietician or Nutritionist about changes.

Take a BMI test to see what your recommended weight should or could be. I don't think you need to worry about losing fat to your healthy weight. I found the BMI would have me a little lighter than I"d like. But I'll see when I get there. Good Luck with the Journey. Remember to drink your water and non sugar fluids.
