jmb3450's Journal, 25 November 2014

Yesterday was busy...after work I took advantage of the good weather to do some maintenance to my wife's car, get the shed organized and cleaned out, then took apart and stored all our deck and patio furniture for the winter. Afterwards 25 minutes targeted heart rate cycling, then repaired my wife's laptop which I'd accidentally sat on a while back...I may be lighter than I used to be but still too heavy to be sitting on computers. But low and behold it is now working again, scored some brownie points.

Still in the process of reading "Younger Next Year", I've made a commitment to myself to be diligent in getting more exercise in on a daily basis - striving to do what the book recommends. I may look into a heart rate monitor, recommendations anyone?

Fasting again this morning, looking to keep calories under 1500/day through tomorrow while getting in decent cardio workouts. As I have heart disease and 5 stents already, I'm being careful as I go with this. The bike is set for 75% of my maximum heart rate, when I get to 124bmp it signals that I've reached that level and then adjusts resistance to keep me in that range. I'd like to be 216 lbs Thursday morning, I don't know if I can get there or not but it's good to have a goal. Plus with 2 Thanksgiving dinners coming up I'll be better prepared for them.

Keep up the good work and great attitude Jim. Definitely sounds like you need to be on the lookout for a heart rate monitor - with the 5 stents. But all the daily exercise will definitely boost heart health. 2 thanksgiving dinners sounds awesome.
