69kg this morning, but I don't feel like screaming hallelujah yet ;)
A colleague, who's losing weight like hell, tells me that it's owing to turmeric! She puts a tablespoon of turmeric in a glass of water and drinks it, every morning! Now, it's obviously working for her, but I will NEVER do that!
I like spices, I mean I am Tunisian so it's almost natural... We use turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, basil, bay, mint .. name it, we use it in cooking, but turmeric "tea" (she calls it turmeric tea), I don't know... I find it weird!
I guess I too have limits :))

Oh my! Turmeric is kind of a bitter spice. I like it in foods, but your colleague must be brave to drink that turmeric tea. Did your colleague lose a lot of weight? Welcome to FatSecret! Good luck to you!

Thank you Deb_N. Yes, she is. It is amazing! I did some research on the subject and it turns out that it's a known kind of "tea" in Asia, especially in India. I skimmed lots of websites and they all say the same thing: "Turmeric is good", but in small quantities. Cheers!

Ohhh myyyyy!!!! loooll, they've made capsules of almost all and every thing! I am not surprised though. As I said, Turmeric is good. Some research shows that taking turmeric by mouth might help improve an upset stomach and that taking turmeric extracts, alone or in combination with other herbal ingredients, can reduce the pain caused by osteoarthritis. In one study, turmeric worked about as well as ibuprofen for reducing osteoarthritis pain. It also has side effects: taking high amounts of turmeric might prevent the absorption of iron. Turmeric should be used with caution in people with iron deficiency. Gallbladder problems: Turmeric can make gallbladder problems worse. Do not use turmeric if you have gallstones or a bile duct obstruction. Surgery: Turmeric might slow blood clotting. It might cause extra bleeding during and after surgery. Stop using turmeric at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery Bleeding problems: Taking turmeric might slow blood clotting. This might increase the risk of bruising and bleeding in people with bleeding disorders. Diabetes: Curcumin, a chemical in turmeric, might decrease blood sugar in people with diabetes. Use with caution in people with diabetes as it might make blood sugar too low. A stomach disorder called gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD): Turmeric can cause stomach upset in some people. It might make stomach problems such as GERD worse. Do not take turmeric if it worsens symptoms of GERD. Hormone-sensitive condition such as breast cancer, uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, endometriosis, or uterine fibroids: Turmeric might act like estrogen. If you have any condition that might be made worse by exposure to estrogen, don’t use turmeric. Infertility: Turmeric might make it difficult to conceive. Turmeric should be used with caution in people trying to have a baby.
