Today I begin following the Monash Uni. IBS diet (I was diagnosed at my colonoscopy two weeks ago); I invested $10 in their android app. I don't know what I ate or drank the other day but yesterday was full of abdominal pain and gas. Unfortunately the potential triggers are mostly staples, sigh.

Poor bugger. You learn to eat around them, and there are heaps of good substitutes: Cauliflower can be made into a good pizza base, and couscous for example.

I have the same - I find as long as I stick to whole grains when I do eat them, I do better. Not sure if that works for everyone, but lots of fibre in regular intervals seems good for me. Haven't had problems in a long time - although it still can flare a little with PMS. Good Luck. It is so cripplingly painful at times. I hope you find something that works for you.

Thanks Chrysicle, I find that even white rice sets me off badly, sigh. No more binge drinking wine either. I don't need grains to live but I do need psyllium husks, lol.

Like I said "whole" grains - so brown rice. It's got to be brown rice for - long grain and basmati come in brown too these days, it's not just limited to medium grain. GL
