Gnewfry's Journal, 17 November 2014

the way i have been eating, i'm surprised i didn't gain more. i have been having chocolate bars, and pizza and just generally not eating well. also, we're having a garage built and i have to be around the whole time the contractors are here. so i haven't been able to take my walks. and it's cold. the one day i could get away, i tried a treadmill and i hated it. i hated it so much that i couldn't even walk a mile. my gym has a track too, but you have to go around 12 times to hit a mile. that's 24 times for my normal walk. probably equally as boring as the treadmill. i won't be able to get back on track until the garage is done. and they are moving slowly. it' frustrating.

i lost my fitbit for a while. fortunately, they sent me a new one for free. i didn't even feel it fall off my wrist. now i am constantly checking. they have some new ones with a clasp like a watch and i would do that if i have to get another. but i'm hoping by the time this one wears out, i can get the apple watch.

i'm still smoking, about half of what i used to smoke. i can't seem to get below that half though.

Gaining a pound a week isn't so bad. You can turn that around. Please don't give up trying to quit smoking. It is even more important to quit smoking than losing weight. Smoking impacts others, as well as yourself, around you negatively. I am rooting for you!

Mind over matter is a beautiful thing. Just think, and believe, that you are losing the weight. Do not weigh yourself for two full weeks. Believing that you are losing the weight is just as powerful as looking down at the scale and seeing the loss! The more we lose, the more we tend to work towards a greater loss and the easier it feels to do. It may sound silly, but it works in keeping us from eating the wrong things. Something else that works well is throwing away you well fitting clothes and replacing them with smaller, tight fitting clothes. Just start with three pair of pants. Pack your current pants away and wear the three new pair. No elastic or stretchy pants! You will "always" have your weight loss goals in mind...always! As far as walking goes, there are tons of things you can do right at home. I stand with my toes on the edge of a door facing (the small step up into the door) then bounce. Liftinging myself up and then lowering again. I do it while watching TV.. During commercials, I work as fastly as I can (running even) to get as many chores as I can done during each break lol. I also do ten squats after each time I get up from using the potty, before and after washing dishes, getting into and out of bed, sitting and getting up from the sofa or chair. Also, write down every calorie you eat...BEFORE YOU EAT IT! Keep your paper with you. Never eat anything without first reviewing what youve already eaten and recording what youre about to eat. This helps a lot! I have nothing but faith in you!!! I can't wait to read your next post. You are my insperation. Your goals and hard work keep me moving. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

Tip, wear your fitbit on your bra shoulder strap. I have lost 2 of them, by wearing them on my hip or socks.
