mattstoc's Journal, 16 November 2014

Well, I finished my 5k; so far, the Kenyan embassy hasn't called about wanting me to become a citizen. I did meet my primary goal - complete the race without walking. In 12 weeks I went from 265lbs and unable to run/jog a mile to 233 and able to run 3.1 miles. I am proud.

I also exceeded my pace goal. I had been training the last couple of weeks on the treadmill. I was able to do the 5k at about a 15min/mile pace. That was my goal for the actual road race. Turns out my pace is around 12 minutes.

Y'all have a rocking day.

Inspiring! I am in week 3 of couch to 5K program myself, though I lost most of my weight before I set that goal. I took a quick look at your diet log. While it does appear you have a deficit most days, your cal intake seems to vary greatly from day to day. Running is great but thelion's share of your weight loss will come as a direct result of your nutrtion. Check out the nutrtion section and fast calorie calc tool on scooby's workshop website. These have been key to helping me change my paradigm and reach my current fitness level and turn my bloodwork around. Keep up the good work!
