upside down and inside out.

I miss my sunday morning steps. I went to steps class in the evening and there is this group of young girls that come "all the time" and they dont like me very much. (i dont get it, whats not to like?) But the sad thing is that they gave me the cold shoulder, and that really felt bad. Brought back some unwanted memories from the past. They where chatting and every time i said something the conversation stopped dead.

I miss my super-kick instructor. If i train, i give it a 100% and i can only keep that up if that mentality is appreciated. This new guy, boy actually, well he just doesnt get me. He motivates the ones that are not giving it their best, but that means today he actually spoke two words to me. One was the word "no", to i joke i made. And the other was, "but you dont count". Well maybe i was working hard and doing my best, and it showed. but i still need motivational speeches and people to tell me that no matter the pain just keep freaking going!!!

I am having a hard time not to let things slide. There is this nice paul simon song: the neerer your destination, the more youre slipsliding away.
I have to find my inner power. The strength to not care about the stupid ignorant girls at steps class (i know i look better, if maybe older!) I have to stop asking for motivation from the trainers i have to stop needing that and motivate myself. kick my own butt!!!

today:
boxing (100% interval 1 hour)
1250 kcal and no snacking!!!

maud.

LOL, I didn't know we were part of the same gym. Or are these girls everywhere? Try to grow a thicker skin. Its their loss not yours if they don't want to talk to you. Although it does take the fun aspect away from the class. The best advice I can give you is either to stick it out and make them see that you just won't go away and they will come round in time or sodd it and change classes. But I know you are a fighter. Now go and kick your own butt :)

i think this journey - we all find that voice where we know how to push our own selves - where the trainer, others, etc. become irrelevant as they are not on our particular journey. sounds like you'd be a good trainer ... unlike the boy you just described. kick your own ass! be the hardest working one no matter what you are doing. the girls, well, that is strange ... you'd think we could all just grow up and get along. not much effort to be kind and friendly, i think. slip slide and away is about right.

I'm in a class with a bunch of gals, too...and we don't talk to eachother either. It's unfortunate, but one thing I've learned about gyms is that everyone is on their own journey. Everyone is at their own level and trying to improve. Be your own personal trainer and give it your all with the moves the instructor is prompting you to do. I'm one of those gals at the gym that doesn't talk to any one...not because I don't care, but because I've got very little time and I need to keep moving (plus, I don't wear my glasses at the gym so I don't see anyone anyway. - LOL).

Haters are going to hate, etc. Let it roll off your back. You are at the gym for You, not them. So many people are so involved in their own lives, they fail to acknowledge others. They might warm up to you after awhile. If not, it is their loss. As for the trainer, his loss too. Go Get 'Em Puhpine! Kick ass for yourself!

Maud, you could be the trainer of that class! When are the people there going to wake up to your skill? You got this!
