CMR's Journal, 18 April 2011

Had a great trip to D.C., but boy did I pay for it. I was down mid last week. But even with that and the amount of walking we did (and we did a sh-- ton), it was not enough to counter the revelry. It seems that when ever we see my wife’s family, we do it up more than necessary. It’s probably because we don’t see then very often. We see my family next weekend for Easter, but it should be much more subdued.

CLICHÉ ALERT!!!!!!!: At the end of the day, it is what it is. We’ll just have to circle the wagons, get back on our horse, hunker down, and paddle through going forward. Life’s a journey, not a destination. I’m just happy be here and hopefully I can help the ball club. Just take one day at a time and the good Lord willing, things will work out.

Amen CMR! We're all here for the young haul. There will be times we slip up and times where we let ourselves go. The difference this time around is that we know what we need to do to get back on track!

I agree with Tap above who said we are here for the long haul. I've recently realized that while it bothers me when I slip up, it would bother me in the long run more if I did not enjoy these times in my life with my family. And while that doesn't mean I can't watch my calorie intake I do agree that after all the work that we have put in, we definitely deserve to take a break, especially when we are on vacation! Glad you enjoyed yourself, you deserved to!

No one has a perfect week (except me). Haha! I probably would have ignored that weigh in point and waited till next week. Nobody gains 3 lbs in a weeks time... It's just food weight and water... maybe repleished glycogen too. So eat clean this week and all should be forgiven by next weekend!

I hear you guys. I was much closer to normal this morning. Like a lemming though, I just couldn't resist the bright red "Weigh In Now." Of course, Like a lemming, I couldn't resist the Dos Equis Amber and fajitas for lunch on Saturday. Ah...another week coming and I've started out pretty well so far. Good luck to all this week...

Hi CMR, I thought of you when I bought yellow, red, orange and green bell peppers and was cutting them up for later use. I freeze them diced in little snack bags and use them as needed in my dishes I make...You can tell the dif in taste. Have a great weekend.........Bren
