I am with you in the yogurt, chia, flax, oatmeal, and whey protein in water. I am still not sure about the coconut oil.

Wow 1200 is definetely too little if you're not laying in bed all day.... I hope your body doesn't go into starvation mode and clings to every calorie it can get

Deb, I was cautious about the coconut oil and resisted it for a while. But since using it while fasting I've found it gives me a boost of energy, curbs hunger, and seems to be helping me drop pounds more quickly. It's got some good health benefits and I'm sold on it.

the coconut oil ... sounds interesting. what's the gist? just drink it? a tablespoon? need to try it - as i am going low tomorrow. also, the idea that we, most of us trying to lose weight, will go into starvation mode, has been refuted by many. a few days of going low will not cause your body to go into starvation mode. for a great read on it, another site's member had a very thoughtful and well written post ... can find it here - www(dot)myfitnesspal(dot)com/topics/show/761810-the-starvation-mode-myth-again - she lifts information from Lyle McDonald's site, and also lists some fact about the minnesota starvation study. bottom line is this - if you are starving - you will lose weight, and your body will not hold onto it. no food, you waste away, muscles, fat, organs shut down. it cannot possibly hold onto anything if, in fact, you are starving.

whoops, the rest of that link is opics(slash)show(slash)761810-the-starvation-mode-myth-again (hate how FS cuts out links, etc. Anyway, or you can google "the starvation mode myth again minnesota starvation diet" and find the link to the myfitnesspal post.
