skwhite's Journal, 19 October 2014

I am home from my first half marathon. I feel great about my race. They don't have the official times up yet but I came in around 2 hours and 23 minutes. That is 7 minutes before my goal! I was able to run the whole way and keep about the same pace the entire time. Success! They give you a nice medal that says half marathon finisher.
Thanks for cheering me on!
I have been super hungry tonight which doesn't surprise me. Probably will be again tomorrow also. i am planning the protein now to help with that.

My official time was 2 hours 22 minutes and 48 seconds. I placed 18 out of 27 in my age group. Not to bad for my first half marathon. =)

@Sweeet2th I ran the Humboldt half marathon. It't on the Avenue of the Giants so I was running among the Redwood Trees. Can't beat it!

I love Humboldt! I used to live in CA and have made it up to Humboldt a few times. It's so pretty and peaceful there! Great time on your half! I ran my half in 2:09:00 and boy, are my legs sore today! I placed 86th out of 180 in my age group (F 40-49) and I can't wait to run my second half marathon!

@Sweeet2th that is an awesome time! My age group was 40-45. We are planning another half next spring. Plenty of time to train some more before then.
