Deb_N's Journal, 19 October 2014

I feel like I am always bragging on myself, like this is so selfish of me, but I just want everyone to know what I have been doing and maybe they could do something similar. Deb - you have worked hard to earn bragging rights... so spend 'em! You are inspiring and it is good to reinforce it can be done w/o pills & gym memberships. I'm sitting here watching Heavy on Amazon and yeah, it's cool to go off to a retreat & get help ...you've done it on your own. By all means, brag.

Yes, you have earned the bragging rights and good for you! You inspire and motivate other people to do well. You have done a great job! (Beware, I will brag on my next journal too :))

What you call bragging. I call inspiring! Others of us look at what you have accomplished and have hope of doing as well over time. I know you must be feeling "if I can do it so can others." Your bragging has tones of encouragement, support and helpfulness. Thank you. J

Really, agreed 100%!! Am lucky my gym membership is only $10.00 a month, so can squeeze it into my little budget.

Ditto all of the above! There's a big difference between bragging and being inspiring and positive. Bragging implies a bit of exaggeration. It's all about intention. You are sharing what you've done with the intention of helping others. Bragging is done with the intention of earning admiration and attention. Biggest difference in the world. And bragging usually produces the opposite results over time as people get tired of hearing it. :-) You've done super !

Added footnote: I have people past and present who I worked with who have spent over $5000 on diet programs and docs that were not covered by insurance and they are still battling weight issues like me

I'm watching 'Heavy' and they've moved to the SC location where it costs $500 a night for 180 days... I can't even begin to do that much math in my head....it hurts..

And this is what I'm learning... little by little, just as long as we don't give up! You've hit the nail on the head. I'm a slow learner, it took me 50+ years to learn this! lol

Oh my Gosh..bragging, I would only hope that someone who has done what you have accomplished would shout to the high heavens to let us know there is hope out there for everyone who wants it....Yes I agree you do not need a gym membership or DIET PILLS!..to loose your weight, all one needs is a good sense of eating and a whole lot of willpower to accomplish a weight loss goal... It is not by means an easy task, it is darn hard and every single day I keep that thought in mind and tell myself that YES when I get to my goal weight I am NEVER NEVER EVER going back, BECAUSE OF IT BEING SO DARN HARD TO LOOSE...who want's to undo everything you have put into it all heart and soul to just fall into the same food temptations again..I tell you it won't be worth it for me...So Deb by all means SHOUT FOR JOY because it is an accomplishment showing every sec. min. and hour, month by month of your commitment and hard work ...when I get there I will BRAGG to.....SO PROUD OF YOU!..you have taught me to be patient, gave me motivation and positive energy to continue my journey...THANK YOU VERY MUCH!.. :)

Girl , this is the reason I wanted you to be my buddy! I'm so similar. No diet pills, just using healthy food choices to get healthier. It's tough choices and a constant choice not to eat crap. Since we ditched ALL PROCESSED FOODS, and gone RAW, it's been so easy. Taught a class today for my fellow photographers and the organizer brought cookies, chips, sodas, etc. Since using my nutribullet, and not eating processed foods, I DO NOT CRAVE SWEETS anymore! It's so weird. Looked at the cookies, smelled great but passed them up. We all can do this. Don't feel bad about bragging (I don't think you are) But you're a FS success! You are an inpiration for me, and I'm sure you are for others! Thank you for sharing and you should be happy to share your success!

Thanks, everyone! I am not against gyms, just lack money. Jeri, $10 a month is excellent for a gym membership. So happy for you! My son has a $30 membership, but when his money is tight, it is the first thing he drops. When the weather is nice, we go walk around the track at the local school. When the weather is bad, I walk in the store or inside my house. :)

If wasn't that cheap I would not be doing it. I'd be doing mostly home as well. I actually could go back to my $25.00 annual membership at the community center but it's not open when can get there much of the time, and it just has a few options, so it works pretty well.
