Kathy Vanish's Journal, 10 October 2014

I am still here and trying, but am still feeling somewhat discouraged. I did go down 0.8 lbs, but it was probably just gas or water. I am trying to make good decisions, but then seem to screw up anyway.

Case and point: Went to mcdonalds last night. I usually get one of their chocolate chip iced coffees, but wanted to stay on my diet so I got a small strawberry and banana smoothies instead. Calories wise it was only 210, but I have started weight watchers points back up and it turned out to be 7 points. I blew the whole day and I thought I was making a good choice. Instead I just feel discouraged.

I have been very busy this week. Going from the time my feet hit the floor on Monday. With my business, my husbands business, and winter coming there is just lots to do. I haven't got any exercise in unless you count being on my feet all day running around trying to get things done.

Your buddy,

Discouraged but determined Kathy

Noo, don't be discouraged. You lost weight, be proud of yourself. Everything counts. Running around does count as being active all day.

If you get a pedometer or any other gadget around your wrist, you can monitor your running around and feel good about it, it will do the counting of steps for you!(start hinting for next pressie)!

It happens. Does weight watchers have an app that will let you look up pubs before you eat? Maybe that would help.

Remember, on WW now you still get the weekly points as well. So going over isn't the end of the world. On average, I go over from 3-4 points but as long as they get taken out of my weekly "bank" I don't sweat it.

I agree - we all have our up moments and downs. Hang in there and you will see results. It is good you are striving to make better choices. It was only because you were not aware of the points it cost you while making the purchase. I am sure if you were aware of that information, you would have made a different choice. Don't beat yourself up!

Forget smoothies for now Kathy...can I tell you milk, yogurt and cheese might be your worst enemy and that is why your results get screwed up? Have you tried their herbal teas? taste the Peppermint next time... you'll be surprised how settling and calming you will feel, and sophisticated! If you feel peakish and that's why I am suspecting you went for the smoothie, take a bag of their cut up apple? You have to be creative at McD...there are some good healthy options, unfortunately we tend to overlook them.
