I can use some help with diabetes and skin cancer.

I have a spot on my bald head that won't heal, it's 7mm x 8mm, and red or pink. not bleeding, but not healing!
I've tried to fix it naturally, but was thinking my fixes were keeping it from healing:
I tried ginger juice; strong German beige antibiotic or antiseptic; Aloe Vera juice (this seemed to work, but I didn't stick to it until recently); castor oil, and finally aloe vera again.
It is itchy so I found myself scratching it and breaking it open.
It has been 5 weeks. but 10 days ago I stopped picking at it, bandaged and tried a lot of what's mentioned, then 4 days ago switched to just aloe vera again.
Looked up online and one of the possibilities is diabetes, infection, ring worm, lots of others and cancer of course.
I went to my dermatologist yesterday, who wants to biopsy it.
It scares me that she thinks she needs to do that. (Or wants to.)
But my friend Mike DIED after they had done that.
They refuse to just cut it completely out, not the way they do it.

So, Regarding Diabetes: I doubt this would be conclusive, but I just tested my blood sugar over the last few days;

Possible diabetes? (tested:
10/4/14, 12:41pm 91 ml/dL, 2:33pm: 83 ml/dL, 4:16pm 1.5hr after 160g sorbet: 143 ml/dL
10/5/14, 6:33am: 92 ml/dL; 9:09am: 76 ml/dL before breakfast & after 77min bike ride.
10/6/14, 6:34am: 86 ml/dL; 10:40am: 96 ml/dL; 6:14pm: 78 ml/dL 3.5 hrs after 191g sorbet. feeling excellent. before dinner.(rarely eat dinner or after 4pm.)
10/7/14, 6:41am: 82 ml/dL
10/8/14, 11:38am: 110 ml/dL after 7:40am breakfast, nothing else eaten
(this was the tenth strip; Now out of test strips.)

Do these figures mean anything to anyone?

and the possibility of skin cancer: anyone had GOOD or bad experience with skin biopsy's??

thanks. :)

This may sound crazy but my great-grandmother used to put petroleum jelly Vaseline on her skin cancers every night. At first thought, I would say PJ has no medical benefits but as a skin protectant it is probably the best in the world. It creates a barrier to keep skin moisturized and can probably catch harmful bacteria before it reaches a wound the same way mucus catches dirt and bacteria in our noses and elsewhere. What harm could it do? Hope this helps.

My great gramma used Crisco. Actually it's great winter hand cream if you live in cold areas. We used to use hoof dressing for the horses when we were hauling wood and doing outside chores, lots of lanolin in that. My hand used to crack and bleed just bending a finger if I didn't use drastic measures. Coconut oil works well too. Billtech, do the biopsy. Get treated if needed, if benign the doc will also have ideas on healing it.

Bag balm. It is wonderful stuff. It protects and heals and keeps skin supple during the healing process. It has a lanolin base. It's carried in most drug stores now.

It is also good. I keep forgetting to take a container of coconut oil to work, my hands are getting so dry. I have hand lotion but since I started eliminating chemical scents I can hardly stand to use it. I put some lavender stems in a jar of coconut oil about a month ago. It smells wonderful and all natural. I will do some with lemon balm this coming week and some herbs in olive oil for cooking.

My hairdresser encouraged me to go to the dermatologist for a spot on my cheek near my ear that would heal, then I'd bump it with my comb and it would break open again. The dermatologist did a biopsy which in that case removed the whole spot. The lab results showed it was cancer so I had to go and have more tissue removed to be sure the surrounding area was cancer free. My next visit I brought my husband with me and they biopsies 2 spots on his bald head and one on his arm (totally removing all the spots). The ones on his head turned out to be nothing, but the one on his arm was melanoma-the worst form of skin cancer...all this to say...get it checked...please.

First let me say, I am not a doctor and you should definitely get it checked out by one. I had something similar and the Dermatologist told me it was infected hair follicles. It would pop up around the crown of my bald spot. I went more than a year trying different prescriptions and it wouldn't go away. The prescriptions were very expensive and didn't last too long. My druggist at the time, told me to try, are you ready for this, one of the creams you use for Jock Itch. Well I got to hand it to him because it cleared up and I haven't had a problem since. But, before you go trying to treat it yourself, go back to your dermatologist and let her diagnose it for you. Good luck.

I have a friend at work who has had a number of cancerous skin patches removed. Don't mess around with it, get it taken care of by the doc.

Thank you very much for all the responses! :) So, no one thinks it could be diabetes? As in the SLOW healing symptom of diabetes. Which is also true of scrapes and cuts I get on my chins or ankles, they take forever to heal.

Bill, you can very well be right about it being associated with diabetes, BUT, you really won't know that for sure until your Doctor makes that diagnosis. Better off playing it safe and getting it diagnosed by you Doctor. Good Luck

Cancer or Diabetes, or maybe nothing. Only the doctor will know for sure. Don't play around with this. 'Too late' does happen! You've got to see the doc and have the biopsy. Right now, this is your Job No.1

Again, get it checked, in stronger language do it!! it's a no ands or buts for your well being. Question. Get it checked. My aunt if not until too late had a horrible and painful death from a type of skin cancer.

If the Dermatologist wants to do a biopsy, please do it! That's the way you can be sure it is not something bad.

thanks, good advice. :) I'm following the advice also of my Doctor: let it alone to heal for two weeks, if it can, then make an appointment with a dermatilogist he recommends for a second opinion. Actually it's looking better! I'm just using Aloe Vera juice directly from a plant I have here, nothing else, no bandages, not touching it except when showering, as he recommended. :)

Went to my GP doctor yesterday, spent over an hour with him. Dealing with 10 issues all told. He agrees with all of you, that the spot on my head that won't heal is actually no big deal, just the beginning stage of cancer (basal cell) and it's NOT going to go balistic if I do a biopsy. He believes that what killed my friend Mike wasn't the fact that they shaved it off without taking it all out from the beginning, but that it was very likely melanoma already. and yes, they needed to take it all out not shave it off. Thanks so much for your support! Really helped me calm down about it. I have an appointment for 10/29/14 with his recommended dermatologist. :)

I had a biopsy done Tues, 10/28/14. Strange: for next two days I was exhausted!, Really tired, but I slept well ! :) They didn't give me anything, no drugs, well; just novicain. Which I don't usually let them use. Feeling a lot better today. Started juicing carrots yesterday and felt better since drinking that. 25Lb. carrots was only $5.99, !! :) another odd thing, the skin on my right forearm is sensitive! http://www.chrisbeatcancer.com/ann-cameron-cured-her-cancer-with-carrot-juice/
