So what's made it the hardest for you to lose weight? Mine is my place of work. At anytime I can grab something from the shelf and eat it... so a couple of seconds can ruin my diet for that day. Other than that it's my Co workers.. they eat out everyday, and say they won't go unless you eat. Which I've found friendly alternatives at restaurants to fix that issue.

Family and friends. Now that I have started eating more healthy, I have to explain to everyone I know that I do not eat certain foods (chips, sweets, fast food). It can be annoying sometimes.

I have that problem too only My son-in-law needs to gain weight and try to maintain. Where I need to lose weight so there are foods in the house for both of us. Its hard staying away from the foods that are so tempting.

Definitely the home. There is always ice cream and other sweets around the house...takes a good portion of my self-control to not indulge.

I've had the "family and friend" problem too......in some cases, it's "misery loves company" and in some, its "food is love", but either way, it makes it hard. I finally had to get firm with people, and not let their hurt feelings or snark over not eating out with them, not eating their food, etc, get to me.

For me it was not knowing the difference between real food and manufactured "product". At work, they keep a bowl of FREE mini candy bars right next to soda fridge. So when I drank a soda, I grabbed 3 FREE minis. Turns out those mini's were 100 cals each, so I was taking in 450 cals every time I got a soda... plus eating 3 meals a day. When I got educated on Nutrition, I realized those minis and sodas were "poisening" me. Once I made that mental conncetion, it became much simpler to say "no" to those things. Where did I get my nutritional knowledge initially? http://scoobysworkshop.com/bodybuilding-nutrition-made-simple/ don't need to be a bodybuilder to apply the nutrition... simple, free and straight forward.

My friends and family was bad for that, too, gingin40. I had to have a sit down and explain how they wasn't helping me reach my goal lol (in a nice way of cours). It was kinda like peer pressure, just with food. &tellierlv, I notice for every pound I lose, my boyfriend picks it up. It was the same when I was dieting with my mother in the house.. I'm guessing they eat what I dont. As for home, I quit buying pop and cakes.. if bf wants to get something then he can. Otherwise my child usually gets something when we're out.

I love the misery loves company. Getting firm is hard, but needed. The Co worker who has pressured me the most, and offered to even buy me snacks/fast food has gained 10lbs in one month... it's kinda bad, BUT that's helped me into not giving in. And I'll check the site out. I read a book once, and youtubed a ton about nutrition. There is so much out about it tho.

Home is the most difficult for me. At work I'm focused on other things and am limited in what I can get to and eat, as long as I stay away from the various rooms that have junk for the taking. At home I guess I relax more and there's more stuff available. Even if it's not "bad" food, too much is no good.

My biggest challenge is eating at other people's homes. Everyone knows I lost weight and they are always pushing food on me. I had to eat a special cheesecake stuffed strawberry made by the host. Once I had to eat a special cake with frosting that was a traditional favorite of my inlaws, which put me above 35% fat that day. At a BBQ I had to eat a dessert made by a chef, another inlaw. Etc. lol
