Today's challenge: Do not eat any cupcakes at my aunt's 68th birthday party. (It's the little steps really that get you to success, right?)

I have started the day strong: 1. Ran two miles before work 2. Brought lunch from home which is mostly a big salad. I packed grapes today too, but after checking out the nutritional value I have reservations. I'm not low-carb or anti-fruit. But, I really don't have any demanding workouts planned today. I do plan to attend Zumba after work. But, I really want to tap into my fat reserves rather than take in 23 grams of sugar for a regular workout. Maybe I will nix the grapes until I have a long-run or tempo planned.

My weight is still up. I've struggled with self-control when it comes to eating over the last few months. But, I'm confident I will get back on track and resume losing. I'm feeling a bit more comfortable in school now. I'm learning all new material which is pretty exciting. I just need to make sure that I maintain a balance between work-kids-dietary intake-exercise-school. I blew it some this weekend with my detour to an Indian restaurant. Delicious. But, I simply ate too much. My tummy has kind of been doing Bollywood ever since. So, it is back to clean eating today! No cupcakes. Or candy corn. Let's see how many times I can walk past the candy jar in my office without reaching in for junk!

Even without the cupcakes you can still have fun at the birthday party. Grapes are a bit higher in calories but are good for us. Have a great day.
