Day 2 Elimination diet - yep as expected i did have severe withdrawal symptoms, mostly caffeine withdrawal...I did announce i ditched the coffee...but the smell of coffee from the office kitchen which is next to my office was beautiful... however i splurged on a teapot and making my own tea from tea leaves rather than using tea bags and the ritual is relaxing and pleasant to the eye to see it on my desk. I'm taking morrocan tea and finding it quite pleasant actually...I just realised that I ditch coffee automatically when i'm away from office...I hardly drink coffee when I'm at home too, so i think the trigger is the coffee machine at office.. and to think i was the one who bought it! Had a seminar yesterday in the afternoon, steered clear from the croissants and danish pastry usually served for coffee break, had peppermint tea and snacked on some fennel and red pepper which i cut up from home. I was feeling a bit light headed towards the end and as soon as the speaker announced we're done, I headed it out to go home....my eyes fell on the yellow arches sign across the road and my feet headed towards McD. I went in with good intentions and ordered a small burger( intention was to eat the meat and ignore the bread) and small fries (strangely enough this is an allowed food) - i figured i needed the energy before heading to crossfit class in 2 hours time and my body would have processed this by the time i got there. Guess what! I ate the whole burger sandwich and the fries in a flat 5 mins and then made it to class. I did feel guilty but boy i used it up in crossfit! I guess my body was asking for some fat and protein...so after McD I head to the butcher and bought a fresh whole capon, asked the butcher to remove skin and cut it up in parts, legs, wings and breast. Popped it in the fan oven at 190 degrees with some rosemary and white wine pepper and salt and when i got back from gym drained the juices ( i always save the juices, cos i let them cool in the fridge and remove the fat part before using in soups or stock) and had a big plateful of protein ready for lunches today! Capon is delicious and I will definitely be buying more of it! I did have two sweaty outbreaks during sleep last night, not sure if part of the withdrawal symptoms or just because it was hot but i found them strange. Today feeling better, happy and calm...woke up at 8:30 am, thank goodness school hasn't started yet. I watered the plants and did a Super cardio Party Zumba class from the new dvd set i just bought... and it is awesome! I think this week i will do their 7 day workout just to familiarize myself with the program. Yesterday i did the Zumba Step with the riser and loved it! In the evenings i will carry on the gym classes - there should be some changes soon in October on that schedule. I'm thinking of putting in the weight body program i carried out for 12 weeks cos i liked the balance of working out all parts of the body not just concentrating or focusing on the bad parts - this program gives a nice shape to arms, thighs, abs and butt...I just have the tummy pooch still so i'm hoping zumba workouts can fix this...ah so much to think about, one day at a time :)
